About this place
The Church of San Filippo Neri preserves the medieval façade of the former Santa Maria della Pieve, once the town’s principal church. Its carved doorway leads to an interior transformed by the Oratorian fathers in the late seventeenth century, with the involvement of architect Giovan Battista Contini.
Frescoes, stucco and gilding define the Baroque space; twisted columns frame the high altar. A visit reveals the different stages of the building, from the medieval parish church to its seventeenth-century renewal, as part of a walk through Cingoli’s centre and with respect for times of worship.
