Santuario della Santissima Annunziata e Cappella d’Oro

The Sanctuary of the Santissima Annunziata is situated along the road leading to the medieval village of Gaeta. The church retains traces of its medieval origins within an interior that has been transformed over the centuries, where the paintings, furnishings and decorations recount the city’s religious and artistic history.

The complex includes the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, known as the ‘Golden Chapel’ due to the opulence of its decoration. It is an intimate spot, well worth including in a stroll along the seafront and amongst the churches of the historic centre, whilst respecting the religious services taking place and the opening hours of the various spaces.
